Teacher of Computing and BTECs in Digital and Creative Media and Enterprise

Full time, permanent post

Sir Graham Balfour Main Scale (actual salary £25,714 – £36,961)

NB: A TLR 2.1 (£2,873) is available for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher capable of taking on additional responsibility

Required asap or from Easter 2022

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Teacher of Computing and BTECs in Digital and Creative Media and Enterprise to join the Computing Department, which sits within the Mathematics Faculty.  The successful candidate will have a firm commitment to raising whole-school achievement; have a professional approach to staff development; high expectations; and a determination to succeed. The successful applicant will have the ability to successfully and effectively teach Computing in Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of A Level teaching for those suitably qualified to do so.  The post also includes the teaching of BTEC courses to Year 10 and 11 as outlined above.

The faculty is at an exciting point in its development and enjoying considerable success in public exams at all levels.  We are looking to appoint a forward thinking, inspirational professional to help lead the faculty and Computing through the next exciting phase of its development.

Teaching Assistant

Full Time, Fixed Term Contract

37.00 hours per week

SGB Grade 4, Term Time Only (scale point 5 - 6: £16,697 – £17,030)

Required asap to August 2022

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Teaching Assistant who will join our highly professional and dedicated team under the management of the SENCO.  The successful candidate will have a firm commitment to upholding the ethos and values of our school; have a professional approach to staff development; high expectations; and a determination to succeed.  The appointed person will work primarily with a student who has an EHCP. Should the EHCP review in summer 2022 prove successful, then this post may be extended further.

Pastoral Administrative Assistant

Full Time, Permanent, Term Time Only Contract

37.00 hours per week

Required from February 2022

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic administrator to work in our busy Pastoral Office.  The successful candidate will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, be able to work on their own initiative and to multi-task.  There is constant ‘coming and going’ in the Pastoral Office, which is shared with our Five Year Heads, and so you will be able to block out likely interruptions throughout the day.  This is a hands-on post, and you will be a first port of call for both students and staff – we can guarantee you will never be bored.  If you think you have what it takes to join our wonderful school, we cannot wait to meet you!

Cover Supervisor

Full Time, Permanent Contract

37.00 hours per week

SGB Grade 5, Term Time Only £17,030 - £18,072 (pro rata salary)

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor who will join our highly professional and dedicated teaching team under the management of the Deputy Headteacher (Teaching and Learning).  The successful candidate will have a firm commitment to upholding the ethos and values of our school; have a professional approach to staff development; high expectations; and a determination to succeed.  The appointed person will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher, under the guidance of teaching or senior staff; they will implement work programmes, manage routine student behaviour and assist students in relevant activities in line with the school’s policies and procedures; they will support after-clubs and activities within the hours of their contract. 

This is a well-regarded post in our school, where the appointed person will become a key member of our Learning and Teaching staff.  We have a highly developed Achievement and Positive Behaviour Policy which all staff follow and all students understand.  Behavioural and attitudinal issues are small in number but rapidly and rigorously dealt with.
