General Technician (Permanent, part-time, term time only) 
(Engineering and Resistant Materials)

Required from September 2022, 22.5 hours per week

Grade 3, SCP 3 - 4, £18,887 - £19,264

Pro rata salary would be £9,930 per annum at Scale Point 3

We wish to appoint a General Technician to work in our Design and Technology (Engineering and Resistant Materials) Department.  The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and hard working.  This job is fast-paced and hands-on, often entailing working to short timescales in a busy student focused environment.

Duties include:

  • The provision of support services to the teaching staff in organising requirements for their work.
  • Preparation of materials to exact specification from stock as directed and clearing away equipment. This entails the use of metal cutting, milling, turning machines and wood conversion machines (planer/thicknesser, circular saw and bandsaw).
  • Assistance to teaching staff with demonstration lessons and practicals.
  • Oversight of specialised teaching areas, stores and/or preparation rooms and arrangements for maintenance and repair services to equipment and working surfaces.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of safety standards in the departments.

Finance Assistant

Grade 4, SCP 5 – 6, £19,650 - £20,043

(Pro Rata Salary - £16,990 - £17,330)

Full Time, term-time only post, 37 hours per week

We are looking to appoint a well organised and efficient Finance Assistant to support the smooth and effective running of our Finance Office.

Ideally someone who has:

  • Experience in financial administration, preferably in a school or similar setting
  • Has experience of using a financial system
  • Can effectively manage, prioritise and organise a varied and demanding workload
  • Is a team player and excellent communicator

Duties include:

  • Undertake all the schools accounting systems.
  • Prepare for school auditors and external organisations as required.
  • Process and submit petty cash claims
  • Prepare weekly BACS payment runs
  • Ensure best value is achieved through use of purchasing frameworks.
  • Monitor reprographics usage.
  • Assist with arrangements for all school trips and ensure appropriate documentation is completed and submitted
  • Assist in the year end process.
  • Run regular ParentPay reports, monitoring usage and answering queries from parents and staff.
