Learning Support Faculty
SEN Co-ordinator (SENCO) - Mr Chamberlain
Sir Graham Balfour has a well-resourced Learning Support Department and extensive links to a multitude of agencies outside of school. All students have access to the support they require with any learning difficulty. Teaching Assistants are used to provide support lessons (literacy) for small numbers of students and are available for in-class support. You can find more detailed information on our SEN provision in the school’s Special Educational Needs Policy which can be found in the Policies and Documents section of the website.

School Inclusion Unit
This is an area of the school dedicated to the excellent practice of restoring students’ self-confidence and resolving their distress or anger. The policy of the Unit is to reintegrate students at the earliest opportunity so that they feel included in their original lessons. The Unit is also the base for a small number of students who follow a work related learning programme during Key Stage 4
