Interview process
As part of the application process, shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview with colleagues from the Stafford Hub schools and the University of Staffordshire.
Full interview details will be provided by email once the initial application has been approved. Please note that some tasks may require preparation in advance of the interview.
The interview aims to:
• Provide a clear understanding of the course, the teaching profession, and the commitment required to succeed.
• Assess your awareness of teaching, professional responsibilities, and safeguarding.
• Ability to communicate effectively and reflect on relevant experiences.
Suitability for teacher training is assessed through both the written application and interview stages. The interview is a two-way process, giving applicants the opportunity to learn more about the PGCE programme, ask questions, and explore whether the course is the right fit for their professional goals.
While prior school experience is not required to be invited to interview, successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of student learning and progress. This may be evidenced through experiences from your own education, as well as any paid or voluntary work undertaken in schools or with school-age children.
